Getting programs from Simtel
I suppose I should start by saying that I do not speak for Simtel.
Simtel is a repository of good freeware and shareware, with a long (in internet terms!) history and accumulated reputation.
Some of my programs were available from Simtel. Things you collect from Simtel may have had extra virus screening. So much for the good news!
Over the years, I have tried to maintain links to Simtel copies of my software. Revising those links is a too-frequent pain, though. Hence a new approach.... Which remained valid for less than a month, before I was back here revising this again. Unless you really, really want to fetch my wares from Simtel, you need read no further. If you do, you're on your own (well, apart from their cookie watchers), and good luck to you.
When one of my programs could in the past be obtained from Simtel, I'll tell you the name of the program. You'll have to find it in the Simtel world yourself.
You MAY find Simtel
here.
Pity that either they couldn't make it pay, or that they didn't understand the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" rule, or something.
I received an email from them that I didn't care for: When I sent them some customer feedback, I got a reply saying they'd pulled my programs from their archive and "apologizing" for "ruining my life."
